While most hot food is suitable for your body, you can boost your well-being by prioritizing protein, iron and fats while in a harsh climate. Here are the benefits of each in the cold:

Have plenty of warm blankets with natural fibers. These can often be found at Goodwill (wash, of course!!) Order a couple of tabletop “fireplaces” and fuel for them. Available on amazon. Can help warm a small room with no electricity.

Only 5 out of ten work if you do not have power. Your furnace, fan and heater need power. It makes me wonder if you live in a hostal environment.

The title of the article doesn’t say anything about being without power and the article does not address being without power. It says and talks about “heat management” and with the exception of comments on radiant heat, which it suggests as an installed option, all the rest is common sense and normal things those of us up north use to temper cold weather impacts. I see this as an article addressed to those in the warmer clines who get smacked by a sudden Arctic breakout and are not accustom to cold weather and their homes are not designed and built like those to the north,
